Ms. Burgdorf is an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Specialist with Jacobs Consultancy, skilled at performing key analytical roles for environmental and social compliance for public agencies, private clients, and non-profit organizations. She has helped clients to measure the environmental and social impacts of projects of regional, national and international significance as well as helping them define innovative mitigation strategies for over twenty years. She specializes in social and resettlement impacts and has worked with numerous clients to help ensure that the World Bank Group/International Finance Corporation’s (WBG/IFC) Performance Standards on Social and Environmental Sustainability are adequately addressed. Ms. Burgdorf’s international experience includes extensive work on geothermal projects in Ethiopia, Comoros, Indonesia and Dominica; renewable power plant projects in Senegal, Chad, and Kenya; and traditional power plant projects in Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and the Philippines. She has also completed environmental and social review for infrastructure projects in Mexico, Peru, Jamaica, India, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, South Africa, Lao, the UK, Canada, and the US. In addition, she has directed several qualitative and quantitative social impact performance management studies for microfinance organizations in South America to help strengthen their effectiveness. She holds a Master’s Degree in International Environmental Policy and speaks Spanish and French in addition to English.
