Rafael has been working for Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH for 5 years, starting as a technical advisor in the “Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency” (4E) and “Promotion of Geothermal Energy in Central America projects”. Nowadays he oversees the tools and methodologies component for the “Geothermal Heat Utilization for Industrial Processes in the SICA Member Countries” (GEO II) project. He has also worked as Technical Assistant to the Executive Secretary at the National Energy Council of El Salvador. He holds a degree in mechanical engineering and qualifications in energy, finances, and political science.
