The nationally mandated goal of 25% clean energy by 2020 is within reach.<\/p>\n<p>In 2018, the Ministry of Energy &amp; Mines announced that the next phase of renewable concessions would be awarded as part of a bid process. Market observers expect the bid to be launched in Q3 or 4 of 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the market for solar and storage among C&amp;I customers is growing and has huge potential.<\/p>\n<p>Natural gas is carving out a significant portion of the grid. Most recently, plans for a 145 MW combined cycle floating power plant have been announced. The project also incorporates a significant energy storage component.<\/p>\n<p>E-Mobility is in the headlines, too. A joint venture between leading firms was recently announced to develop EV charging infrastructure throughout the Dominican Republic.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><em><span class=\"s1\"><b>DR-GRID \/ Red El\u00e9ctrica de Rep\u00fablica Dominicana: Contexto<\/b><\/span><\/em><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><em><span class=\"s1\">Despu\u00e9s de a\u00f1os de inercia el mercado de energ\u00eda limpia ha despegado y varios proyectos de energ\u00eda e\u00f3lica y solar de gran nivel se han financiado y construido.&nbsp;&nbsp;El objetivo establecido a nivel nacional de un 25% de energ\u00eda limpia para 2020 est\u00e1 al alcance.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><em><span class=\"s1\">El 2018 el Ministerio de Energ\u00eda y Minas anunci\u00f3 que la pr\u00f3xima fase de adjudicaci\u00f3n de concesiones para el desarrollo de energ\u00edas renovables seria dentro un proceso de licitaci\u00f3n. Los observadores del mercado esperan que la oferta se lance en el tercer o cuarto trimestre de 2019.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><em><span class=\"s1\">Mientras tanto, el mercado de la energ\u00eda solar y su almacenamiento entre los clientes del comercio y la industria est\u00e1 creciendo con un enorme potencial.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><em><span class=\"s1\">El gas natural es una parte significativa de la red el\u00e9ctrica.
