John serves on McKinsey’s global real estate executive committee and leads development services in North America where he works across sectors to boost economic, social, and environmental outcomes in community-scale development. John also leads real estate and infrastructure firms through strategic and operational transformations, deploying advanced analytics to support market growth and investment plans, building digitally-enabled products, and creating more productive operating models.
John has led development activities of more than $150 billion in major projects across six continents including driving economic development and tenant attraction strategies, improving end-user experiences, designing infrastructure plans for smart cities, and improving the cost and schedule performance of projects dramatically. John’s multibillion-dollar programs include mixed-used, city-center redevelopments in the United States and Asia, multi-station transit expansions, resorts and hotels, and hospital expansions. John has also served on an array of multifamily, office, healthcare, and senior living assets and portfolios.
John serves on the advisory board of Global Parliament of Mayors and is a member of Technology and Real Estate Council of Urban Land Institute. He has provided pro-bono community development, design, and construction services in East Africa and Haiti.
Prior to joining McKinsey, John worked in capital-project delivery and project controls for complex academic research, laboratory, and healthcare projects at a leading global construction group. He also designed and deployed global innovation programs focused on increasing productivity in field execution and project management.
John is a licensed professional engineer.
