Solar companies in Puerto Rico formalise partnership

The Solar & Energy Storage Association of Puerto Rico (SESA-PR) is now an official affiliate of Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), a trade association that represents the U.S. solar industry.

“This partnership was a natural outgrowth following the solar industry’s response to last year’s devastating hurricanes,” Abigail Ross Hopper, SEIA’s president and CEO said in a press release. “By working together under one umbrella, we will be better able to coordinate resources and promote the vibrant growth of Puerto Rico’s solar market.”

With Puerto Rico lawmakers are currently considering a bill which includes targets to achieve 100% of electricity generation from renewable sources by 2050, this partnership comes at a crucial in Puerto Rico’s transformation to a resilient economy built on renewable and clean energy.
