David Callis has over 30 years in the electric utility industry. He began a 5-year career at the Tennessee Valley Authority in Chattanooga, TN, as an accountant, and then as Supervisor of Power Revenue. He also worked at Tri-County EMC for 9 years, as Director of Finance & Administration and then as General Manager.

In February 2001, David joined the Tennessee Electric Cooperative Association as the Director of Government & Public Affairs. In June 2010, he was named Vice-President, and in January 2012 became the Executive Vice President and General Manager. David served on the Boards of Directors of the Tennessee Valley Public Power Association, the Kentucky Association of Electric Cooperatives, and the South Kentucky Industrial Development Association.

David served on the Tennessee Legislature’s Special Joint Committee on Precious Metals Theft and NRECA’s Resolutions Review Committee.

His education includes a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee – Chattanooga.
