Julia is a visionary non-profit leader at the center of the transformation underway in the electric power sector to a clean and modern energy future.

For the past 20 years she has been advising and collaborating with utilities, solution providers and government agencies on business models, grid modernization, and clean energy policies, strategies and programs.

She is a skilled facilitator of strategic planning sessions and stakeholder forums, and is a highly sought after speaker for energy events around the world. She has shared the stage with some of the nation’s greatest leaders, including President Bill Clinton, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, General Wesley Clark, Energy Secretary Ernie Moniz, Mary Matalin, and James Carville.  She has been quoted in The Economist, New York Times, Wall Street Journal and USA Today, and been a featured guest on Fox Business News.

Julia is the founder of Solar Power International (SPI), North America’s largest, most comprehensive trade show for solar, and is Board Co-Chair of the organization that now manages SPI, Energy Storage International, and other smart energy trade shows. She also is on the Board of Directors of the Clean Energy Leadership Institute and GRID Alternatives Mid-Atlantic, serves on the Keystone Policy Center’s Energy Board, and is a member of E Source Advisory Board.

Previously, Julia worked for ICF International where she supported the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s implementation of the ENERGY STAR program. She advised manufacturers of energy efficient lighting, HVAC, and refrigeration products on sales and marketing strategies to leverage the ENERGY STAR brand. She also developed and conducted ENERGY STAR training for product manufacturers and their distributors.

Ms. Hamm is a graduate of Cornell University, earning a Bachelors of Science in Business Management and Marketing.
