LNG exports from Trinidad and Peru losing steam

The two remaining producers of LNG in Latin America, Trinidad & Tobago and Peru, are facing the deterioration of a key industry due to upstream issues, low oil and gas prices, and weakening macroeconomics in both countries, says Interfax Global Energy. The challenges of selling LNG into an oversupplied market are compounded by the falling demand in Latin America. Trinidad has been a key supplier to Argentina, Chile, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, while the Manzanillo terminal on the Pacific coast of Mexico has been the main market for Peruvian LNG.
