Haiti explores access to Green Climate Fund

Haiti’s Ministry of Environment and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) have organized a two-day information workshop to advise project developers from the private sector, academia and policy makers on how they can access the Green Climate Fund (GCF), which has the objective to fund projects which help fight global warming.

Martine Thérer, Deputy Representative of UNDP in Haiti, highlighted the importance of the GCF in the country and the impact it could have in mitigating natural hazards and future vulnerabilities created by global warning. The Fund could be utilized for programs with the potential to reduce GHG emissions, including renewable energy projects, improved waste management, and reforestation programs.
