Geothermal training course started in El Salvador

For the fifth year in a row, the National Energy Council, the University of El Salvador and the geothermal company LAGEO, the NDF and the Inter-American Development Bank are hosting a five-month Geothermal Diploma Course in El Salvador. The program will train ten professionals from El Salvador and 15 professionals from the Latin American region. The aim is to develop a bank of professionals who in turn can help develop the estimated 6000 MW of geothermal energy in Latin America, 200 MW of which is currently being explored in El Salvador.

The training, which is led by national and international exports and involves hands-on internships at different sites, covers a wide range of topics, including exploration geology, geochemistry and geophysics, drilling techniques for wells, geothermal plant planning, environmental and social management of projects.
