Jerónimo Carcelén is the President of the Chilean Geothermal Council and an Attorney at Law, who graduated from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (1999), with a degree in Economics and Finance (Universidad de Chile), a Master in International Law from Georgetown University, a degree on Mining Investment in Indigenous Lands and Territories (Universidad Central). Admitted to practice in Chile and Ecuador. Professor of Mining Law at Universidad Diego Portales (since 2006); has taught postgraduate courses related to the mining industry at Universidad Central, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Universidad Finis Terrae, Escuela Europea de Negocios, and Universidad de Chile. Consultant of companies, governments and international organizations in mining regulation and development of mining and energy projects. As a member of the Geothermal Roundtable (2017) he had an active participation in the discussions about the context for developing geothermal projects as well as on the best regulatory framework for geothermal projects in Chile.
