Magaly Flores Armenta is a chemical engineer graduated from the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo, with master degree in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot Watt University in Scotland, specializing in geothermal reservoirs at the University of Auckland in New Zealand, Diploma in Management Skills ITESM, Diploma in International Leadership by the San Diego Global University and certificate in Design of Electricity Markets and energy integration.
With experience of more than 21 years, since November 2014 she serves as Manager for the renewable Energy Sector for CFE, coordinating exploration studies and new infrastructure projects with geothermal, solar, wind and other non conventional renewable energy sources, promoting the use of new technologies at affordable costs. She lead the CFE team participating in the long term auctions in Mexico, placing projects to offer energy, power and clean energy certificates to the new Mexican Electric Market.
She has several publications in national and international journals and she is a member of international associations such as the Geothermal Resources Council, the International Geothermal Association, the Mexican Geothermal Association and the Mexican Geological Society. Former president of the Mexican Geothermal Association (2010-2012) and vice president of the Mexican Geological Society (2013-2014).
