Senior Program Coordinator
Zhihong Zhang is a Senior Program Coordinator at the Climate Investment Funds (CIF), managing the Clean Technology Fund (CTF) and the Scaling up Renewable Energy Program in Low Income Countries (SREP), with a combined portfolio of over USD 6 billion in 46 countries. From 2004 to 2011, he led the climate change focal area at the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and was extensively involved in the UNFCCC negotiations on finance, mitigation, and technology transfer. Prior to the GEF, Zhihong worked in the energy sector at the World Bank and served as the Chief Technical Advisor at the UN Industrial Development Organization for energy efficiency programs in China. Zhihong holds a Ph.D. in Energy Management and Policy from the University of Pennsylvania.
