Coordinator, Environmental Issues, Engineering and Construction
Randall Acuña is a seasoned geographer who currently serves as the Coordinator of the Environmental Studies Area of Engineering and Construction for the Costa Rican Electricity Institute (ICE for its Spanish acronym). He has 24 years of experience in the environmental assessment of energy and transmission projects, participating at all phases including pre-feasibility and feasibility. He also has vast experience in evaluating socio-environmental accompaniment for financing processes, mainly for projects with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
In coordination with ICE’s multidisciplinary team, Acuña has promoted the active incorporation of social participation throughout the project design process, mainly in the area of geothermal energy and energy transmission. He is a graduate from the University of Costa Rica.
