Carlos Flores Peña

Head of the Sub-direction of Planning

An electrical engineer, Mr. Peña graduated from the Autonomous Metropolitan University. He completed a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering at the National Polytechnic Institute and a Master’s Degree in Administration from the Universidad Anáhuac del Sur.

He worked for 30 years in the Federal Electricity Commission in the areas of Planning of the Transmission Grid and the Generation System of the Mexican Electric System.

Throughout his career he has been responsible for proposing and justifying technically and economically, transmission projects and power plants of different technologies. He participated in the preparation of the projects and investments programs of electricity sector for 10 and 15 years.

Since 2015, he has collaborated with CENACE in the Sub-direction of Planning, where he conducts studies regarding energy and economics for the planning of the National Transmission Grid.

Mr. Peña participates in the elaboration of the Expansion and Modernization Programs of the National Transmission Grid, preparing proposals and analysis cost/benefit of transmission projects, grid congestion and proposals for generation indicative programs, among others.
