Dr. Vince Henderson Is Dominica’s new ambassador to U.S. and OAS

The new Ambassador to the U.S and the Permanent Representative to the Organization of American States (OAS), Dr. Vince Henderson plans to address key areas of energy and climate change in the Caribbean. At an appointment ceremony on October 1st, Secretary General of OAS, Luis Almagro, highlighted the work of Dr. Henderson in the areas of Small Island Developing States (SIDS), climate change and education. Ambassador Dr. Henderson spoke to the recommendation of SG Almagro in a Monday forum at AOS, confirming his focus on areas of mutual cooperation including geothermal energy, climate change and initiatives in oceans management and preservation of Dominica’s water systems. He has extended an invitation to the U.S to collaborate with Dominica and the wider Caribbean to help mitigate the effects of climate change. Prior to his appointment as Ambassador to the U.S. and the OAS, Dr. Henderson served as Ambassador/Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York and is currently the Executive Chair of the SIDS Dock.
