Veronica Prado

Veronica R. Prado currently serves as an Energy Specialist at the Inter-American Development Bank’s Infrastructure and Energy Sector assigned to the Country Office of Barbados. Her main areas of work include energy efficiency, renewable energy, electric mobility, regulatory reform, and innovative financing mechanisms in the energy sector.

Prior to her current appointment, she served as a Research Economist for the University of Oxford’s Department of Economics where she developed and implemented interventions in the fields of economic development, natural resources management, infrastructure and energy in African and South East Asian countries. Prado joined the IDB in 2013 as an energy consultant. 

A citizen of Brazil, Prado holds a dual degree in history and economics from Montclair State University, a Master of Science in Political Economy, and a Master of Science in Development Economics from the University of Oxford, England.
