Ewout joined FMO in 2003, where he started as investment officer with a focus on infrastructure finance in Africa and Asia. In 2008, Ewout joined FMO’s Private Equity department where he worked on growing FMO’s investments in financial institutions in Africa and Asia. Subsequently, Ewout moved to South Africa to take up the position as head FMO’s Southern Africa office in Johannesburg in 2012. In that position, he was involved in the financing of multiple energy projects in South Africa, Zambia and Mozambique.

As of 2017, Ewout heads FMO’s Energy dept for Latin America & Caribbean. FMO’s Latin America & Caribbean Energy team has investments across 12 countries in the region and manages a total investment portfolio of over USD 700 mln. Prior to joining FMO, Ewout worked for an international engineering & construction group on the funding of PPP infrastructure projects in Europe, the Middle East (Gulf Area) and Asia. Ewout holds a Masters’ degree in Public Administration from the University of Twente in The Netherlands.
