Richard A. Ashby is a Managing Director and Head of Renewable Investment Banking at Whitehall focused on investment banking, leveraged and project finance. Mr. Ashby has thirty years of development, strategic advisory and financial structuring experience involving over US$ 30 billion of closed transactions. Prior to joining Whitehall, Mr. Ashby was the Managing Partner of Infrastructure Finance Advisors, an energy-focused financial and strategic advisory firm. Between 2007 and 2010, Mr. Ashby was the Chief Financial Officer of Renewable Energy Systems Americas Inc. where he led the closing of over $4 billion of M&A, project debt and tax equity transactions involving over 2,200 MW of wind and solar assets. Prior to joining RES Americas in June 2007, Mr. Ashby was the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Perennial Power, the North American power generation subsidiary of the Sumitomo Corporation of Japan where he was focused on M&A and greenfield development of thermal power assets. Mr. Ashby spent the first ten years of his career based in Washington DC, and London involved in the development and financing of international power and energy infrastructure assets with project development and financial advisory experience in Asia and the Middle East. Mr. Ashby holds a B.SC in Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from SUNY-Buffalo.
