Michelle Ottey is a Senior Investment Officer and Head of IFC Transaction Advisory Services in Public Private Partnerships for the Caribbean. With an unwavering passion for driving development and enriching people’s lives, she brings over 25 years’ experience in the financial sector, 14 of which have been dedicated to fostering private sector development at International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank.

The expertise gained in solving complex challenges and creating value is reflected in Michelle’s diverse financial experience including PPPs, privatizations, debt, equity, M&A, and investment and advisory services in multiple sectors including Transport, Telecommunications, Renewable Energy, Water and Sanitation and Health and Education. She currently leads a team which acts as Advisors to Governments in structuring and executing PPP and privatization transactions in the Caribbean.

A thought leader and passionate speaker, she engages global audiences in her areas of expertise. Michelle also enjoys mentoring the next generation of leaders, empowering them to make a difference.

Prior to joining IFC, she was Vice President, Global Corporate Bank at Citigroup, Jamaica where she originated and executed Corporate Finance, Project Finance and Capital Markets transactions.

Michelle holds a BSc from the University of the West Indies and an MBA (Finance) from the Universities of Manchester and Wales, UK.
