Caribbean Climate Innovation Centre is leading the regional response to climate change

Established in 2014, the Caribbean Climate Innovation Center (CCIC) seeks to develop a regionally integrated approach to solving the region’s climate, energy and resource challenges.

CCIC’s CEO, Evertron Hanson, says that the organization takes an entrepreneurial approach to addressing these issues,

“The purpose of this project is to build an entrepreneurial eco system that will foster growth-oriented entrepreneurs and profitable businesses that address climate change mitigation and adaptation,” he said.

The model focuses on five priority areas, including solar, water management, sustainable agribusiness, efficient resource use and energy efficiency.

With the goal of establishing a unified response to climate change, CCIC has 12 country hubs in CARICOM states.
