Panamanian economist with over 40 years of professional experience covering international operations as well as significant local and regional experience in economic and finance. Minister of Economics and Finance of Panama on several opportunities, he became the first non-US Chief Financial Officer for the Panama Canal in 1997 under US Administration.
His experience covers banking at Chase Manhattan Bank, mining development with Rio Tinto Zinc in London as part of the Cerro Colorado Copper Project, more recently at General Electric with regional responsibilities and covering Gas-to-Power initiatives in Latin America. Retired from General Electric at the end of 2015 to get back to SIGMA Management Advisors Corp. to carry his professional practice.
Mr. Vasquez holds a PhD and MS from Rensselaer Polytechnic, a M.E. from North Carolina State University and a B.S. from Villanova University.
