Energy Efficiency Analyst
David Díaz is an energy efficiency analyst at the National Energy Council of El Salvador who focuses on energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. He studied electrical engineering at Universidad Centroamericana José Simeón Cañas, in El Salvador, and then completed an energy efficiency course for engineers at the same university. His passion for sustainable energy development led him to become part of the first Nama Academy for Latin America in Quito, Ecuador, where he learnt about climate change mitigation projects aimed at the energy sector and started developing a NAMA project alongside his co-workers.
In addition, David was awarded a scholarship to study Policy Planning for Energy Efficiency and Conservation in Japan and used this knowledge to further collaborate on the design of the Energy Efficiency Public Building NAMA of El Salvador and the analysis of the national energy/economic indicators. In his free time, he loves playing table tennis or developing electronic projects.
