Sustainability Manager (South America and the Caribbean)
Camilo Sanchez Betancourt is CEMEX’ Sustainability Regional Manager for the South America, Central America and Caribbean region. He is currently responsible for the overall cement operations including mining and industrial processes, leading also the development of networks and team coordination to implement the company’s sustainability strategy, including environmental, biodiversity and water policies. He also leads the sustainability committee of the Inter-American Cement Federation (FICEM).
Camilo is an environmental engineer from Los Andes University with a Master in Development Practices. He has specialized in sustainable construction (the supply end), climate change and clean development mechanisms. His academic training and experience also includes auditing of health, security, environmental and quality ISO standards.
