Mexico Starts Building Capacity for the Energy Sector Through Education

Over the next five years, Mexico will need over 135,000 experts to assist with the expansion of its energy sector.

In an effort to meet this need and develop the national workforce, the Mexican government will undertake an aggressive initiatives that target building capacity for the energy sector through education. As part of this program, 60,000 scholarships will be offered to university-level students who are studying related fields.

According to Pedro Joaquin Coldwell, head of the Ministry of Energy, his Ministry is also collaborating with the Ministry of Public Education to ensure that Mexican universities are educating students to meet the needs of the energy sector.
