The Hon. Dr. Gale Tracy Christiane Rigobert

Gale Tracy Christiane Rigobert is a Saint Lucian politician who represents Micoud North constituency in the House of Assembly. She is deputy political leader of the United Workers Party and a Cabinet Minister. Rigobert, who lectured at the University of the West Indies, previously served as a member of the Senate, and advisor to the National Development in the Ministry of Finance, Economic Affairs and National Development. She won her Micoud North seat in the 2011 general election, and was elected deputy political leader of the UWP in July 2013. Dr. Rigobert has also been an Ambassador for Peace with Universal Peace Federation since July 2013.

On 1 February 2014, Rigobert was appointed Leader of the Opposition in parliament, replacing former Prime Minister Stephenson King. In so doing, she made history by becoming the youngest and the first female Leader of the Opposition in Saint Lucia. Dr. Rigobert is author of the book Bridging the Digital Divide? Prospects for Caribbean Development in the New Techno-economic Paradigm.
