Bermuda gets ready for 6-MW solar tender

A new solar power facility will be constructed adjacent to the LF Wade International Airport in Bermuda. The Government of Bermuda has issued an open call to pre-qualify companies seeking to take part in the tender for a two-phase project; the first phase will consist of 6 MW of power and the second phase will be 10 to 12 MW. Eligible bidders should be experienced at installing no less than 10 MW of cumulative solar capacity and at least one 3 MW-plus solar park on a single site anywhere globally. Additionally, bidders should commit to hire a local company as the operations and maintenance (O&M) contractor for the life of the project. The tender process is due to start in the Fall 2016.
