Argentina: 818 MW of new renewables contracts signed from RenovAr auction

Argentina’s Ministry of Mines and Energy announced on Monday it has signed contracts for 818 MW of new renewable energy with winners from the RenovAr 1 tender.

The 16 projects represent almost 72% of the total awards in the first tender round of the RenovAr renewables programme, which reached 1,142 MW. More details on the wind and solar projects are available in the table below.

There were also several hydropower contracts, including for a 7-MW power plant in Rio Negro proposed by Patagonia Energia, and three other projects Mendoza, developed by Emesa and its partner. A biogas project of 1.2-MW in Santa Fe is also in that list.

Earlier this month, the government signed 314.95 MW in contracts from the RenovAr 1 tender. Currently, 23 of the 59 winning projects from RenovAr 1 and RenovAr 1.5 have signed deals with the ministry.
