EU to prioritize renewable energy in Caribbean regional partnership programme

The EU’s $91m programme, INTERREG V Caribbean, set to strengthen relationships between Guadeloupe, Guyana, Martinique and Saint-Martin and its Caribbean neighbors will officially kick off on Wednesday 12 December in Saint Lucia.

The programme will focus on boosting economic competitiveness through regional cooperation between the French Overseas Departments and their English-, Spanish-, and Dutch-speaking Caribbean countries and territories of the region.

One of the priority areas of the programme is renewable energy, but extends to other areas including public health, employment and innovation, and cultural environment. More information on the programme is likely to be released on Wednesday, following the official launch.
