$2.1m investments in energy efficiency will see $41m annual savings for Jamaica

A joint investment between the Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica (PCJ) and the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Trust Fund will drive energy-efficient and renewable energy developments in six local healthcare facilities, totalling US$2.1 million. The hospitals and rehabilitation centre will install solar water heaters and energy efficiency technology to reduce energy demand by over 1.3 million kW hours/year. These savings will total at least $41 million per annum, according to Minister of Science, Energy and Technology, Dr. the Hon. Andrew Wheatley.
