Jamaica to go live with LNG in mid-August

Kelly Tomblin, CEO of the Jamaica Service Company stated the the conversation of Jamaica’s Bogue plant to liquefied natural gas (LNG) will be completed by mid-August. According to Tomblin, construction is nearly 95% complete at this time.

“We are excited to convert Bogue.  We have always maintained that fuel diversity is critical. It is all about providing cheaper and affordable energy prices to the consumer,” she said.

Switching to LNG will reduce JPS’ annual operating costs by 15 – 30%.
